In May 2009, a sunny afternoon in Istanbul after a meeting, when I shared an idea long bottled up in my mind with a friend and I was replied that it was a great one, I decided to turn over a new page in my life Let me tell you the story from the beginning...
During last past 20 years of professional experience, in my travels to cities like Milan, Paris, Florance, Barcelona and Madrid, in charming and dynamic atmosphere of fashion and perfume industry, I always tried to make time to visit modern art museums and galleries. What I liked the most was that I would always be able to find art pieces that pleased me at affordable prices. The limited editions of several artworks especially started to become the center of my interest.
The pleasure of visiting the galleries in the back streets and alleys with the taste in my palate of a well-done “Robespierre” accompanied by a mild wine eaten in “Brasserie Lipp” at Saint-German, started to lead me to a feeling of absence when I returned to Istanbul. . Such experiences and the happiness I felt in every city I visited was completing the whole picture together with the kind, careful behaviors and the enlightening information they provide in art galleries about artist and the artwork. The satisfaction I felt from buying the limited editions of an artist from whom I was impressed at more affordable prices was really extraordinary.
I thought to myself about why I could not experience such pleasures in Istanbul easily, and I found several reasons over years. I realized that it was time to unleash what was repressed in depths, which is initiated by quality after spending many years in the world of luxury. I started to examine into the structures of art markets in the world and Turkey and my findings directed me to where I am, right now.
“A new, humble structure, which considers quality as an existence point, an origin, intensely occupied at its center by human life, chooses to utilize the facilities of technology, and where artworks are sold at affordable prices, so that they can be included in the lives of larger masses.”
We offer the enumerated limited editions artworks together with the certificates stating that they are unique and will not be edited more than the specified number, reaching to collectors and art lovers via Artlimits.
From an idea to a dream, from a dream to today, on the way to this starting point what pepped me up; encouraged me every morning were my friends, who cheerfully supported me and the project whenever I mentioned them about what I wanted to do, the artists and the faith of the people who worked together with me in this project in Artlimits. I thank them all.
I wish you days full of art and happiness.
